Enjoy Your Summer Running in Comfort – the Best Summer Running Gear

Running in the summer heat can be uncomfortable, but it’s also a great exercise that you need to keep up with. There are ways to make sure you get the best out of your running without feeling too sweaty and hot, such as wearing your lightest gear, and there are some excellent accessories you can check out too.

What you don’t want to do is over-exert yourself in the heat – take your time and if it’s too hot cut back on your usual run – as that can be dangerous, and you want to keep as cool as possible. What do we think makes up the ideal summer running gear? Let’s have a look!

Lightweight Running Shoes – On Cloudflow

• Buy the On Cloudflow for £130 directly from On Running

when choosing lightweight shoes for summer running you should always look for the best you can afford. Shoes need to be suitably light but also strong and well-made as they are going to take a lot of wear and tear! We like the ‘On Cloud’ shoes from On Running, a Swiss design with Helion foam for support and fit and breathable mesh, and a sole that provides great shock absorption.

Running Socks –Swiftwick Maxus

• Buy the Swiftwick Maxus for £16.60 at Amazon UK

choose a pair of running socks that are specially designed to wick moisture away from the feet, or you’ll end up with soaked shoes! There are many to choose from and a wide range of known brands, and we like the Swiftwick range as they are carefully constructed to do the job. The ‘Maxus’ design is comfortable, effective, and not expensive.

Linerless Shorts –Under Armour Qualifier Speedpocket 18 cm/7-inch Linerless Shorts

• Buy the UA Qualifier Speedpocket Branded 18 cm Linerless Shorts for £44 directly from Under Armour

an essential item for running in warm weather is a pair of linerless shorts. Offering lightweight, comfort, and coolness, they make life a lot easier, and if you want a suggestion, we recommend you check out the Under Armour Qualifier Speedpocket design. With superb design and a handy, cleverly designed pocket plus mesh sides for breathability, these surprisingly affordable running shorts are sure to prove popular this summer.

Lightweight Vest – Sundried Dom 2.0 Running Vest

• Buy the Sundried Dom 2.0 for £20 directly from Sundried

another essential item is a lightweight vest, one that is designed with plenty of breathability and comfort. The one we like the look of is from Sundried’s Eco Range, the Dom 2.0. With large armholes that are perfect for warm weather, this vest is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles! If that sounds uncomfortable, rest assured it is precisely the opposite and is also cheap to buy.

Summer Headgear –Nike Tailwind Running Cap

• Buy the Nike Tailwind Running Cap for £26.95 directly from Nike

you need to protect your head in the hot sun, so check out the Nike Tailwind Running Cap as a well-priced, quality cap that looks great and will help keep your head cool. It may be Nike but it’s not expensive and is adjustable for fit.

The above are just a few of the essential gear you need to enjoy your summer running. We also recommend a lightweight pack for around the waist wear and a flask for your refreshment. If you want to keep safe, also wear a running watch or heart rate monitor, and take care while getting your daily running fix.
